Essence Tea Room
The project brief was to design a campus café that provides a comfortable and inviting space for students and faculty to enjoy high-quality coffee and light fare while fostering a sense of community.
I wanted to my café to be inspired by Japanese Tea rooms, they represent a claiming environment where people go reset and disconnect from everyday life.
I felt like this would be a space that would be beneficial to students and employees at Huddersfield university.
I used Enscape to create these renders of my SketchUp 3D model.
These are elevations of important areas within the café.
The entrance area and the tea room.
I used AutoCad to draw the floor plan and used photoshop to add materials.
This floor plan gives an idea of the journey that the customer will experience visiting the café.
Concept collage, creating a feeling of what I want the space to represent and portray. Taking inspiration from Japanese cultures and nature.
Another concept collage that is more literal, presenting the colour pallet and material choices that connect with my concept idea.
